Our Mentor in Residence scheme is a vital part of our program, offering Team Entrepreneurs (students) valuable advice and support from external experts with real-world experience. Each team is assigned a dedicated mentor, while students can access one-on-one guidance from any mentor whenever needed. These mentors aid in project activities, team strategy, and other relevant areas, helping you navigate challenges and optimize your performance.
These mentors bring specialist knowledge from diverse industries, sectors, and backgrounds. In a 2021 survey, 79% of our Team Entrepreneurs rated the Mentor in Residence initiative as ‘Significant or Highly significant.’ One student summed it up perfectly, stating, “Quite simply, the MIR service connects TE to the world of work and industry.”
Our Alumni MiR’s have inside expertise on how to be successful on the Team Entrepreneurship programme, as well as providing insight into gaining employment or how to continue running businesses after graduation.
“Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge, social capital, and the psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work, career, or professional development; mentoring entails informal communication, usually face-to-face and during a sustained period of time, between a person who is perceived to have greater relevant knowledge, wisdom, or experience (the mentor) and a person who is perceived to have less (the mentee).”
